Recovering from the “Attack of the Killer Mosquitoes”

Welcome back! I hope you had an enjoyable July 4th celebration and are in the middle of a very successful week. I spent the holiday having an old fashion barbecue with family and friends.

A big THANK YOU to Tom for cooking up an INCREDIBLE pork roast on the grill…

Pork Roast 3

In addition to eating large amounts of comfort food, we spent time relaxing poolside, laughing and listening to some of the same old stories that I’ve heard 100 times. Do you have stories that seem to come up every time your family or friends get together?

The night was concluded watching a sky full of fireworks from my balcony…. and then there was the attack of killer mosquitoes. I was quickly covered in bites and am still itching today! (Does anyone know of any mosquito bite remedies that really work??)

Despite the mosquitoes, it was a wonderful time. While it is important to focus on business priorities, it is equally if not more important to stay connected with family and friends. For me, times like these are priceless!

  1. So, mosquito bites. Here are some thoughts:
Prevention is better than cure. Take 100mg of B1 every day. It takes three weeks to soak into your chemistry, but skeeters hate the smell and will stay away from you from then on.
Remedies: Toothpaste, Regular old Crest is the best. Tea Tree Oil, the strongest concentration you can find, you can use this as a repellent also. Baking soda and apple cider vinegar, make a paste and slap it on.
If you’re going to be eating outside, spray the area with Listerine, all the bugs will stay away.

  2. Thanks Lois! I am definitely going to try the 100mg of B1 for a long-term solution. In the meantime, I’m trying Crest. Thank goodness for screen enclosures!
