Back from a New England Vacation

I am back from a wonderful vacation in New England. It was one of those vacations where I was constantly on the go, moving from place to place. I enjoyed doing a lot of “touristy” activities that I didn’t do when I lived in New England, and also visited some of my favorite spots. It was a lot of fun and a bit exhausting!

Having been away from New England for a while, I noticed that some things were not quite the same as I had remembered. Not that they had changed, but that my perspective had changed. I was more aware of the bumpy and winding roads, the timing of the traffic lights and, of course, the Boston accents.

Taking a real vacation also gave me a new perspective on some aspects of my business and sparked some new ideas as well. This probably wouldn’t have happened if I simply took a day off or a long weekend to do work around the house. I believe taking regularly scheduled vacations is an important part of owning a small business.

When was the last time you took a real vacation? If it has been a while, I encourage you to put one on your schedule soon!
