When did you stop THINKING BIG?
Are YOU ready to make a Quantum Leap?
A message from Scott Walkinshaw….
I recently finished reading You2 “A High-Velocity Formula for Multiplying Your Personal Effectiveness in Quantum Leaps” by Price Pritchett. Although it was only 36 pages (18 chapters, each only 2 pages) and a fairly quick read, it really made me think. He immediately captured my attention on the first page where he wrote:
“You haven’t been reaching your full potential. So far, you haven’t even come close. No matter how you wish to measure success, regardless of how you define achievement, you have barely scratched the surface of what you personally can accomplish.”
I almost stopped reading right there, thinking there was no way this guy could possibly be talking to me, the action focused / achievement oriented person that I am! However, as I continued on, I realized that Price Pritchett was absolutely right.
Although I had many accomplishments under my belt, I had only scratched the surface of my personal potential. I needed to shift my perspective and expectations if I was to make a “quantum leap” in my personal and business life. It’s a bit scary AND I’m excited for what lies ahead. How about you? Do you need to shift your perspective in order to discover the untapped potential within you?
Take care,
Scott

Think BIG, Believe, and Act “As If”….
When first entering the world of small business, many of us began our journey thinking BIG. With great passion and a strong belief that we would be a huge success, we opened our doors and waited for the customers to arrive.
Over time and after experiencing the ups and downs of owning a business, we may have traded “Thinking BIG” for “Being Realistic” and traded “Making Leaps” for “Taking Small Steps.” If this has happened to you, I would encourage you to try out the following exercise for the next 7 days and see what new realities emerge. You might be pleasantly surprised.
Step 1. Think BIG
Set aside your current realities and give yourself permission to think about what you ideally want your business to look like in the long-term. Focus on the impact having such a business would have on your daily life. Where would you live? What type of car would you drive? How would you interact with your clients? How would you spend your free time? Start to paint a picture of your ideal business and life, and make it as clear as possible in your mind, or perhaps on paper. Be creative.
Step 2. Believe
Now that you are really clear on you want to achieve, you need to BELIEVE that it is actually possible. You may not know how you are going to get there, but don’t worry about that for now. Just focus on the ideal picture you have created and start to accept it as within the realm of possibility. The truth is that many of the people we view as incredibly successful today and in history started off with the odds stacked against them. Why can’t you be the one in the million who beats the odds? Why can’t you be the next unbelievable success story? You can!
Step 3. Act “As If”
OK, this is my favorite step. Even if you don’t completely BELIEVE that your Think BIG goal is possible for you, I want you to Act “As If” you have already reached it and have become that person. As you encounter everyday decisions in your life and business, ask yourself, “How would the hugely successful future-me handle this? What would he / she do in this situation right now?” This is NOT about acting recklessly or spending foolishly. It is about shifting your perspective, and taking a confident and courageous look at the everyday decisions that will eventually lead you to your Think BIG self.
Are you willing to give it a try for the next 7 days?
